Portrait Photographers – Face Covers whole frame?

Does anybody know of any portrait photographers who tend to take tight shots were the face covers the whole frame (preferably in Black and White)

My A2 Photography project consists of a series of different types of portrait photography, I’m finding it difficult to find a old well known photographer that took some amazing Beauty portraits, any ideas ?

Cecil Beaton took photos of the most famous and beautiful women (and men!) in the world during the mid 20th century. David Bailey famous for his photos of Twiggy, Chrissie Shrimpton etc from the 60s onwards.

how do portrait photographers use props to show the sitters personality?

what props do they use and why?

they don’t… if a photographer is doing photos of people, they’ll ask for the person to bring their own things… (well, clothes)

you’d have to know someone very well to know the persons personality…

I like to distort my portrait photographs using my computer – I am studying photography and the teacher likes us to research famous photographers for each genre.

Though he’s 20th century, David Hockney is the main artist I used in my art studies at GCSE & AS level.

Half Body Portrait Photographers?

I’m doing a research, and I need to know some photographers who usually focuses only half body portraits.. If you could also give me some websites, that would be great..

Portrait photographers do whatever is necessary, and usually what their clients want. During a portrait shoot, all kinds of shots from head shots to wider shots will be attempted. No sensible portrait photographer is going to limit their shots to one size only. That would be quite daft.

Portraits usually involve more that just a head shot. So all you need to do is look up some portrait photographers. A half-body shot is a fairly typical portrait format.

I have never yet met a photographer who would refuse to do head shots if that’s what their client wants.

I was thinking about becoming one of the photographers that take portraits for seniors. As in like, their yearbook pictures.

How much do they make? And is that a good job?

all depends on what your offering and your clients.. compare local senior photographers prices and styles. See what mistakes or qualities they exhibit. Then see if your photography even compares to theirs, if not then don’t try to just make a buck cause in the end they all going to hate your pictures and spread the word that you stink. And when you do get better.. they won’t care cause you already ripped them off

A lot of his work is B&W, though. So not sure if this will be of any help in your research. but he is my favorite portrait photographer.

Tips on building fashion/portrait portfolio. What do clients look for in a photographers portfolio?

I’m in the process of building my fashion and portrait photography portfolio (hardback) and I’m unsure of what to put in it. Do clients/agencies look for creativity or simplicity? do they look at the technical or the creative side of things, or both?

I worked as a photographer’s model when I was a teenager.

The photographer wants to see good pictures. If you photograph well, it will show.

You’ll want your portfolio that will show your ability to be photographed in many different ways. So, include a little technical, a little creative, a little simplicity as well.

Good luck. It’s a cutthroat business.
