Who is your favorite portrait artist?

1) Who is your favorite portrait artist?
2) do you know any artist who paints portraits which look quite life-like (moderately) but not impressionist or super modern.

Robert Henri was probably the best ever and he was a heck of a teacher , too. Here’s a sample of his portraiture….

Then there is Chuck Close for super realism. Here’s one of his….

    Mark Carder, you can look at his work on his website at
    Thecardermethod.com very real looking as if they were taken with a camera but not they were painted in oil.
