who could i use as an influence on myself for oil painting?

i love beautiful paintings, strong colours, things that arent considered ‘wierd’ but rather more ‘unique’. i love contemporary, but realsitic accurate portrait paintings, and also skylines, and landscapes of desserts and beaches. realistic but not too traditional. detailed, and bold, with depth, and shade, and colour.

You could browse galleries of paintings and pick what you like to get inspiration.

You could take a look at the work of Ewan Uglow. He uses the analytical techniqe of painting but takes it to the extreme with interesting results.
I imagine you would also like the work of Jack Vetriano.
    Hope this was helpful x

You sound like you would be a good candidate for learning how to paint wet on wet style. Bill Alexander and Bob Ross are well known for this method.
