How much does wal-mart portrait studio charge?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under portrait studio | 3 Comments »

I want to get my senior photos done but its very expensive. The wal-mart website doesn’t have any information about their prices. Does someone know how much it is to get good photo packages?

Unlike the first two people, I’ll actually answer your question. Lol.

The photo studios at Wal-Mart are private companies that mearly rent out space in the store. Kinda like in a shopping mall. They are in no way affilliated with Wal-Mart. Just like McDonalds or Subway which are in many Supercenters. My suggestion is this: Call up Wal-Mart and ask them to direct your call to the photo studio, whatever the name may be, and ask them what their rates are. =D

You won’t get senior pictures at Wal-mart. What you will get is head and shoulder shots. Really? You’re willing to go to Walmart for what most people consider the second most important portrait of your life, only second to your wedding portraits?
Go to a local photographer. Spend the money. You will have the momories for life. Walmart prints get yellowed after about 10 years – not only that but they don’t keep the files or guarantee them, so when that happens you have lost them forever.

I disagree with the poster above me. When I was a senior (12 years ago), my mom spent the money for me to go to the local photographer and get my senior picture… even though we really couldn’t afford it. I have 2-3 copies of the pictures now, but have never looked back at it and thought "I’m so glad i had that taken". I have plenty of photos of myself from those days and my senior shot looks cheesy with sparkly backgrounds (this was in the 90’s mind you). There is no need to spend the money for a fancy shot. Just call Walmart and ask, or check Target for rates, too.

With the economy as bad as it is, there’s no need to spend extra money frivolously.
