Is this weird? My wedding was a couple weeks ago and wasn’t able to have a photographer. So, my mom really wants a pro picture of me in my dress. Do portrait studios do this, like olan mills or something? And is that weird to have it done weeks after the wedding?
It’s no big deal at all.
All you have to tell them is that you want portrait photos done (it’s not even necessary to tell them you’ll be in your dress…unless they ask I suppose).
It’s not uncommon to have this done at all.

Not weird at all, I know several couples who’ve done that to save money.
Just book an appointment with a professional photographer, go get your hair done, go to the studio, and change into your dress!

Nope – you want a picture of you in your wedding dress – and you want to look as close to the way you did on your wedding.
Doing it a few weeks post-wedding is no odder than doing it a few weeks pre-wedding.

its not weird at all, these companies are working for you, you get what you want, with circumstances like yours it makes perfect sense to do so

Not weird at all-tons of people do this…I know you’re looking to save money but have you thought about photographers who take senior pics? They may be running some specials right now for senior pics that maybe they could extend to you guys also..Just some food for thought. But congrats on your wedding, I bet it was gorgeous, and I hope this helps!

Absolutely and very common. Go for it. Typically, the appointment is usually the day after the wedding, but hey, it still works.

It’s not weird and people do it all the time with wedding dresses and graduation gowns and all kinds of stuff. Do it if your mom wants. And yes, there are chains like Olan Mills as well as independent photography studios.

you can have them done any time – I had one set of graduation portraits done at Wal Mart… about 3 weeks after. Olan Mills is a great place to have them done – if not there Sears or JC Penney; hopefully one of the places will have a changing room available.

Many wedding photographers now offer a day after session. The couple is relaxed and the big drama of the wedding day is now over and they are free to be themselves. I would ask your wedding photographer is he/she offers this and schedule a couple of hours at a place that means something to you as a couple and get some beautiful environmental portraits.
