I love taking pictures of everything around me, especially the professional ones. What camera is the best for this? I also like taking professional self portraits. Assist me.
There is no budget, i would really appreciate a variety of camera’s though.
Get a Nikon D3X-around $8,000 a pro, or a Nikon D90-$800 a semi-pro, Nikon D5000 -$500 an entry-level or a point and shoot camera under $200… (i’m a Nikon fan…) but really the best camera is already in your hands… even a cellphone w/ camera could be a great camera… it really depends on the eye of the photographer, the lighting, the subject and your perspective…
I also think that you are a newbie in photography, try to play with your camera first… try manual setting, programmed… not the preset functions/ auto… try searching about aperture, shutter, iso, focal lengths, etc… there’s a lot of free tutorial on photography…just ask mr. google… then go for a DSLR camera to have a much better control of your photos… depending on your budget…
hope this helps…

I don’t know how you plan to take a self-portrait, but you should keep in mind other things you’ll need. For my self-portrait I used an E-520 (camera), 11-22mm lens, tripod, bubble level for camera, tape measure, and a neutral density filter.
You don’t need all that stuff, but i’d think you’d want a tripod as well as a camera. If you like photography in general i say get a dslr camera. They give you creative control. If you’re only looking for something to take a few nice pics with, on occasion, any compact digital camera will do. Lots of people fret over which camera to get. Different kind of cameras (compact, dsrl, waterproof) do different things, but cameras of each class are really similar. So choose what type of camera you want to get, and buy one which fits within your budget. You can’t really go wrong with cameras these days, they’re all pretty good.

I’ve taken all mine with my Olympus E-510 and the 14-42mm "kit" lens. I put kit in quotes because its not your average kit lens, its a real live nice premium zuiko glass lens. Well I had some help too. I hooked it up to the TV and used the live view to see what I was doing. Oh, and I probably should mention I have a studio in the basement. I didn’t use all my stuff, my backdrops, 2 background lights, a key and fill light and a hair light in some of them. Some are way photoshopped, some are just touched up a bit.
Hooking it up to the TV makes it way way better. I did some with my Nikon and hooking it up to the TV, I can see what I just took but not what it is live. It does help though.

So here are the many faces of me, just none of them seem very happy. Its okay, I’m not really a smiley bubbly person anyway. And for the record, I didn’t take pics with any real blood.
