What would be a good career for someone who likes to draw portraits?

I like to do realistic portraits but I don’t know what kind of job I could have. I don’t want to be a sketch artist for the police or work at an amusement park. Any other ideas?

To answer this I would need to see some of your work.

start a business where you draw newlywed couples from pictures. When my parents got married (some 20+ years ago), they had a chalk drawing done for them, imitating one of their wedding pictures. They paid good money for it.

    Hi:

You could actually possibly develop your skills at capuring an exceptional likeness and become a portrait painter. You might check out some existing portait painters, like Everett Raymond Kinstler or check out the American Society of Portrait Artists.

Hope this helps, and maybe leads you on a good path.

My first portrait was a drawing i did using color pencils. I’ve since taught myself to paint with oils and my work has started to get noticed more. I’ve done several commissioned works for people who have taken notice. Perhaps you may want to get into painting and see if it leads to anything. My art can be checked out at hellosanantonio.com under artist name ”Guerro”.
