White Charcoal Portrait – Angelina Jolie – ThePortraitArt

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under portraits | 25 Comments »

Experimenting with white charcoal…

unlike other portraits, this one is all about focusing on highlights instead of shadows, which makes most parts more challenging. Pretty fun and interesting to draw.. white charcoal doesn’t stick to paper well so accidental smudging is more of a problem.

tools used: white charcoal pencil, white compressed charcoal, my fingers for blending, kneaded eraser.

SIMON COWELL ON TOAST MARMITE PAINTING, Nathan Wyburn

Posted by admin on December 18th, 2009 and filed under portraits | 25 Comments »

READ: Here I paint a portrait of Simon Cowell on 30 pieces of toast using Marmite.
I was inspired by hearing an interviewer saying you either love him or you hate him, which of course is the slogan on Marmite.
You either love it or you hate it

This was very interesting to do as it was so unpredictable how it would turn out. The angle of camera is so that I could fit the whole image in the camera frame, so the lower face may seem abit oddly shaped at first.

Hope you all like this piece! And be sure to check out my other work and subscribe if you havnt already!

My Portrait Painting of Edward Cullen a.k.a Rob Pattinson from Twilight

Posted by admin on December 14th, 2009 and filed under portrait paintings | 25 Comments »

This is only the second painting I’ve ever attempted of somebody and I think it turned out great! It took me too long to video, 8 hours all up, so was done in still photographs. It’s a shame about the difference in lighting in some of the pics but I’m still happy with the way the video came out and I hope that all Edward Cullen/Rob Pattinson lovers enjoy this!!

Thanks for watching all!

YOUTUBE I do NOT claim to own the music for this video!! Please do not disable audio…thanks!!!
